The Shed Yoogali is a hidden oasis found within the heart of the Riverina region just outside of Griffith NSW, but it wasn’t always like this. When Brett & Sonia first purchased the 50 acre property back in August of 2006 the picturesque haven was nothing but a rice paddock without any utlities, all that they had was a vision of turning this place into their own family home one day to be shared amongst themselves and their children.

With Brett’s family owned business Kingston Landformers under his belt, (which was also built from the ground up much like The Shed) he used his expertise in the landforming industry to lay the base work for the property that would benefit the grounds in years to come. This started with the initial tidying up of the block along with the lasering and build of the man made dam added onto the property in 2007. An addition that truly makes this space what it is today with its breathtaking water views in amongst the beautiful gardens.

Brett, Sonia & their three children Josh, Sam and Kendra all early teens at the time spent years together as a family working tirelessly on the landscaping, planting trees, lawn & gardens. The kids would come home from boarding school and spend their weekends haying, mulching and helping with the arduous process of hand watering each and every tree with a small water tank on the back of the ute - watering systems took ten years to complete with the final instalment completed in as recent as 2021. It was a labour of love from each and every family member to help together build their family property from the ground up, something that can be truly felt when you are sitting in amongst the gardens soaking in the views from every angle.

Over the years they have continued to grow the gardens and expand with an outdoor kitchen/bar, pergola, toilet block, archway and jetty and have a vision that continues to evolve and grow with The Shed every year. They pride themselves on being an eco friendly off grid experience and are extremely conscious when developing the property of the environmental impacts ensuring this is at the forefront of their planning.

The Shed grounds & gardens were all designed by Brett and Sonia with the only intention of being able to enjoy them together with their children and future grandchildren as their family home. Although The Shed was never built with the intention of becoming a venue for hire they were approached by a couple for a garden wedding back in 2018 and once they met the couple they just couldn’t say no to sharing their space for the lovely couples big day.

This wedding was the catalyst to Sonia & her daughter Kendra deciding to share their space and start The Shed as an event business initially giving the idea a 12 month trial run back in 2019. Here they are in 2022 with a multitude of beautiful weddings & events under their belts and are excited for the future of The Shed.
